Rory Nickerson

Rory grew up in Maine and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Psychology and Studio Art.  She loves to draw and dance and has been involved in a lot of community outreach throughout High school and College.

Rory loves the ocean and the beach and summers in Maine in general.  If the sun is out, she likes to be outdoors doing something active.  She also loves to spend time with her family and with a local teen group that she leads.

Rory was with NextSTEP for a year before moving onto a position with another company that works more with at risk children in their homes. She comes back often to visit and we are very excited to see her.

Kristine Biegel

Kristine first came to Strive Next Step as a volunteer teaching artist with her partner teacher Lily (her dog).  She now works with Next Step on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays and is really enjoying her time with everyone.

Kristine is an artist and educator, recently completing her Masters in Education and currently taking classes to complete a general education teaching certification. Kristine believes that everyone can succeed in the classroom and loves integrative and experiential learning experiences.

Kristine worked in the Strive program for just over a year before she left  to work at her Studio Art business called The Creative Child and Adult Arts Program full time.  She hopes to get the Next Steppers over for a weekly program once the new educators are settled in.
