Tacos and calendars

September 10, 2012
Greetings everyone, this past week was a week of many new things. We welcomed Emily to our program and she is going to be a great addition, already with her very happy personality and especially great selection of music and movies.  Welcome Emily.  This week we worked on calendars, understanding how to manage our time and get everything organized so that we know where we are going and when we need to be there. We also went on a few field trips , Deering Oaks, grocery shopping, and made tacos for our Friday afternoon dinner. They were really yummy.

This coming week we are welcoming a new participant, her name is Sophie and we are really excited to get to know her.  Have a wonderful week everyone and be sure to check out the individual pages of our group for more interesting tidbits.

As summer comes to a close, don't mind that tear sliding down my face, Rory and Kristine are starting to gear up to get back to a program where we get a little more structured in what we do with our days.  We are easing into this slowly as we wait for the last few participants to join us. The month of September will be filled with projects about who each participant is, we will share through poetry, visual arts and games.  We will also start working on the day to day skills needed to create s...

August 24, 2012

This week so far :)

August 1, 2012
We spent the beginning of the week exploring how the smartboard could help us with geography, finding places we've visited and learning more about how to read a map.  In the afternoon on our way to Wolfe's Neck farm to explore, we stopped at Delorme map store and saw Eartha, the world's largest rotating revolving globe.   Nate finds his favorite type of globe- a pillow globe!
